Mark Coster

Vice President, Mergers & Acquisitions

As the Vice President of Mergers & Acquisitions, Mark oversees the company's inorganic growth strategy and execution, including deal sourcing, diligence, and integration. His mandate is to help Schellman continue to grow its P&L, talent pool, and capabilities across the globe. He does this through strategic transactions with high-quality industry partners that realize the value and fit envisioned by both sides during the negotiation process.

Mark brings significant strategy and corporate development leadership experience to Schellman, with a proven history of value creation and hands-on operational leadership. He most recently served as the CEO and Founder of Buchanan Creek Capital (BCC), a Virginia Beach-based search fund aimed at acquiring and growing businesses in the local community. Prior to founding BCC, Mark was an Operating Executive for Polaris Growth Fund (PGF), a B2B SaaS and tech-enabled services private equity firm based in Boston. In that role, Mark actively worked with portfolio companies like ARInsights, ATC, and LCVista to evaluate and execute strategic acquisitions.

Before joining PGF, Mark was the SVP of Corporate Strategy and Development at Trader Interactive during its Goldman Sachs and Eurazeo private equity ownership cycle, with the business eventually being acquired for nearly $2 billion by CAR Group (ASX: CAR). His earlier experience includes Corporate Strategy, Corporate Development, and Portfolio Acquisition roles at CarMax (NYSE: KMX), PRA Group (NASDAQ: PRAA), and the Boston Consulting Group (BCG).

Mark holds an MBA from the Darden School of Business and a BSc in Commerce from the McIntire School of Commerce, both at the University of Virginia. He lives in Virginia Beach with his wife, Courtney, and their three children. In his free time, Mark enjoys coaching, playing, and watching sports, and is an active member of his community through church and non-profit work.
